Strategic partnerships are key to sustainable and exponential growth. MillenniumIT ESP (MIT ESP) has always considered such partnerships a vital part of its operations. Recently the company signed a new partnership with the Sultanate of Oman as a sponsor of COMEX 2022. MillenniumIT ESP is a complete enterprise solutions provider with over 25 years of experience in the technology sector, locally and globally. In the words of its Vice President – Strategic Engagement Viraj De Mendis, “25 years experience for an IT company is similar to 100 years of experience for another industry.”
COMEX 2022 forms one part of Oman 2040 Vision, a strategic plan developed by the Sultanate of Oman. Oman’s Vision 2040 empowers a shift to a knowledge-rich, Information Communications Technology pro Economy & Society. This year, COMEX focused on the buyer potential of Oil & Gas, Transportation & Logistics, Investments in ICT, Education, Healthcare, Banking & Finance, Tourism, Retail, and Manufacturing, all of which are major industries and sectors in Oman’s development plans.

Since its inception, MIT ESP has empowered organizations in several industries with its cutting-edge solutions around Core Infrastructure, Cloud Technology, Cyber Security, Enterprise Applications, Intelligent Automation and Data, Smart Buildings, and Managed Services. Through partnerships with global companies like Oracle, Microsoft, Cisco, Huawei and 100+ partnerships and relationships with other Sri Lankan-based software developers and ISVs, MillenniumIT ESP has, over the years, developed a strong base of trust and quality in the local and regional technology industry.
MIT ESP’s presence at COMEX 2022, which is Oman’s largest Technology, Communications, Innovation, and Digital Transformation show, is the first step towards expanding its global presence with a powerful partnership. Through this partnership, the company aims to build stronger relationships and gateways into the broader African market to take their own and other Sri Lankan ISV and software products to these markets through its engagements in Oman. Behind Millennium IT ESP’s move to enter the Omani market, De Mendis explained that Oman is strategically located, has a thriving economy, and has strong relationships with all its neighbors.
The bigger picture: Oman Vision 2040

“The work on Oman Vision 2040 started in 2020 and aims to make Oman a hub in the Gulf region for logistics and supply chains. The Omani government aims to do so through digital transformation to accelerate growth,” De Mendis said. He added that this is where MIT ESP plays a strong role. With 25 years of experience, it’s well positioned to support Oman with its long-term vision to be a regional hub.
COMEX 2022 forms an integral part of laying the groundwork for future collaboration between MIT, the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, and other Omani companies. “As a participant and sponsor, we formed strong partnerships at COMEX 2022,” said De Mendis. As the company prepares to enter this market, De Mendis reaffirms its stance on delivering high-quality digital solutions, “Over the years, MillenniumIT ESP has gained a strong reputation as an industry leader for delivering robust digital solutions meeting high industry standards.”

The reception of MillenniumIT ESP at COMEX was overwhelmingly positive. De Mendis noted that the Sri Lankan team saw great demand with several meetings between public and private stakeholders. He said, “COMEX 2022 was a great exposure that allowed MIT ESP to understand the market in Oman and the future of the Middle East.” De Mendis shared that Oman’s road to digital transformation has already begun, explaining that during COMEX, MillenniumIT ESP was able to meet with the Chairman of Oman’s Chamber of Commerce, Omani ambassadors, and top officials from Oman’s Ministry of Transport and Technology. As a result, projects are already underway that cater to Oman’s Vision 2040 of digital transformation to embrace a future of innovation.
