For any startup founder, it’s no easy task to raise funding for your venture. Recognising this fact, Founder Institute is hosting a webinar featuring Sri Lankan investors. The webinar aims to help startup founders learn how to obtain funding, what investors look for during a pitch, the types of founders investors are looking for, and more. “Meet Startup Investors” will be held on June 15, 2021, from 06:00 pm – 07:30 pm. The event will feature a question-and-answer session with local investors and related organizations. This meeting will cover all topics related to funding, pitching, the Founder Institute, and more.

The event will feature insights from an array of leaders among Sri Lanka’s investment ecosystem, including Chalinda Abeykoon (CEO, Lanka Angel Network), Sarinda Unamboowe (CEO/Managing Director, MAS Kreeda), Love Yadav (General Partner, Lion Ventures), Nilendra Weerasinghe (Chief Corporate Advisory Officer, NDB Investment Bank Limited), Mangala Karunaratne (Founder and CEO, Calcey Technologies) and Ayami Wanasinghe (Managing Director – Sri Lanka, Founder Institute).

Founder Institute is the world’s largest pre-seed startup accelerator, having helped launch over 4,500 companies across 200+ cities and six continents. The Silicon Valley-based institute is now available to high-potential founders in Sri Lanka. The upcoming Sri Lanka Virtual 2021 programme is now accepting applications. This Founder Institute cohort will be held completely online, allowing anyone to build a business alongside some of Sri Lanka’s top entrepreneurs and investors from the comfort of home. It is an intensive programme that is open to anybody ranging from individuals interested in doing a startup to founders that have already built a prototype (provided they have not raised over USD $500,000 in funding).
